Great to see you have found your place in the field of theatre which was always your passion. It was great to read your interview I enjoyed all your responses and particularly, I loved your perception regarding the power and beauty of truth and how important a role it plays in engaging an audience, and I am sure, in inspiring the actors and directors of such works in which Truth is conveyed! congratulations in your success! regards Ruthie

It was in 1965 that I left Winnipeg, on the verge of playinng the role of an angel at a gate in a scene Roberta was preparing costumes and all. I remember the night she announced she was marrying and moving to New York. Were you in her drama class that winter? I still love and draw from the stretches and improvs she did... I've gotten a ba in theatre and ma in journalism since. I typed Ross Stuart's phd thesis on MTC... he taught theatre history at York in the mid-70s, lay on his desk when he got tired of sitting n standing...

roberta Dolby was on a programme with me in 1965, which took us to israel for six weeks or so. Would love to know where she is, how she is: many of us from that group stay in touch... and I have W'peg family.

I will always love you, MTC. At 16 I ushered for "Waiting for Godot" and read at home every play in "Playbill" magazines you left lying around. Roberta Dolby (later Phillips) of RADA taught my first ever acting class: brilliant. She went to teach at Juilliard - any word on how she is? I treasure the wonderful letter of reference she wrote for me. And now I hear my fellow student Lewis Baumander directed Hamlet with you. I love this life ... even as mine gets longer and longer - I'm 63 now. Love, Phyllis

I saw the Keanu Hamlet. I actually can't remember if it was good, but I do remember the girl who was had the locker next to mine squealing through the halls at having just stolen a half-eaten piece of bread that he had eaten.

The energy in the city with Keanu there was pretty exciting. He had just done Speed, and for a place like Winnipeg, when a star comes to town, everyone knows about it.

I think it was one of Steven's most brilliant moves as artistic director.

(that, and whenever he hires me)

GREAT INTERVIEW! So informative, but also in a very intimate and fun way. I especially love the inclusion of the "Ode on a Grecian Urn" excerpt!

Hey Michael. Check out Keanu's acting in Branagh's "Much Ado" and your inferiority complex will disappear.

I do concede Keanu is very good at looking handsome and stoically bewildered onscreen. Nobody says "whoa" on camera quite as well as Keanu does. (see The Matrix, etc)

Keanu does seem like a nice guy and I'll always feel inclined to give him a chance. But Iago, Richard, or Mackers?

Whoa.
