I believe this quote has been busted.
Never heard of Paul Arden. My first take was that this sounded like typical pop-psych drivel. A quick look at the link told me I was right.

It’s actually a good book. I read it this morning. Paul Arden is a big and famous ad agency copywriter. British.
The book’s good. The quote, however, obviously doesn’t withstand the scrutiny of this crowd.
