What should we talk about now?

Any suggestions?

  1. Robots?! I like that.

How many robots would it take to perform all of Shakespeare’s works? And how long would it take them?

  2. It depends. Are you doing full robot productions of Shakespeare’s plays, for short Futurist robot interpretations?

We need to stage this. Robots!

Also, was Shakespeare a robot? Dicuss.

  3. Hmm. Ok.

    Robot & Juliette.

    Robot III

    Much Ado About AI

    Taming of the Robot

    Twelfth Robot

    Automaton & Cleopatra

    The Comedy of Industrial Robotics.

Ok. Maybe not that last one. Industrial robots just don’t make for good comedy.

And to your question, Alison, Shakespeare was indeed a robot. That’s why 100 monkeys with 100 typewriters can so easily reproduce his works.

  4. I was just taling about how much i love robots. Daft Punk made a movie all about robots that’s going on at the Royal this weekend. No techno or anything, just robots.

The only way to make decent robot theatre would be to assume highly advanced forms, a la Blade Runner. Crappier Jetsons robots would grow tiresome on stage as they would clearly not be taking in their partners, living in the moment, reacting to that night’s audience and all that jazz. There’s nothing like a robot discovering his or her own humanity narrative though…
